I have only had this since June. 3 months. I have noticed it will black out for a few seconds (seems longer). It is happening more frequently.
I use this machine for work. When I use an Excel spreadsheet, I notice the numbers/letters go fuzzy, looks like alien symbols. This just started today.
I can't keep using this for work much longer. Too distracting
I really like the machine...hope you can help

We need to determine whether it is a hardware or software issue..   Turn off the computer.   Tap f2 or del while turning on the computer.   It will go to bios.   Please stay on the bios screen for 30 mins.    If the display is looking good on bios then it is a software issue.   If the display is not looking good on the bios screen then it is a hardware issue.

If it is a software issue try the following the steps..

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand display adapter
right click on display driver - uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

If it is still not working
Uninstall the display adapter from device manager
    Don’t restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the display driver

If it is a hardware issue...  ( If the display is not looking good in bios )

If your device is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.

I tried all that was said. BIOS runs fine.  I didn't find windows X and I couldn't find the display driver. Thanks for trying

OK, if the BIOS is fine and Windows has the issue then the issue is with Windows drivers, more likely the GPU driver than a monitor driver. Monitor drivers only set supported resolutions and that is normally done via plug and play. Try updating or reinstalling the video drivers to see if it makes any difference.

I have had the Acer Aspire C24-963 for 6 months now. I bought it around December of 2023. This issue of the screen flickering, to the best of my knowledge, is caused by the graphics driver. In the BIOS I have had no issues of flickering and the status of the display is good. I also wiped and rebuilt the computer three different times to test of different theory's. The first theory I tested was to see if the software needed to be reinstalled and so I wiped and rebuilt the Windows 11 platform on the machine (side note: originally it came to me with Windows 10 but I decided to upgrade). I installed and updated all drivers from the windows update system menu. The screen started to flicker as usual. Second, I wiped and rebuilt with windows 10. Then I added all updates for drivers from the Windows Update system menu. The screen did not flicker before the drivers but after the drivers the screen started flickering. Third, I wiped again and then rebuilt with 10 disconnecting all internet access. I installed only the graphics driver from the Acer support page website for Aspire C24-964. After installing that driver the screen flickered. The flicker is at its worst when the camera app is open and the camera is showing on the screen.

Notes: When the rebuild of the second attempt occurred, I noticed no issues with the screen. I did several attempts to recreate the screen flickering and it would not happen. A notification was present that stated that Windows highly recommended installing a graphics driver (I had not installed any driver at that point). After I tested it fully to recreate the screen flickering to occur I could not. I then proceeded to install all the drivers. Then the screen began flickering simply by pulling up the camera app.
