    Have exact same issue ,
HD WebCam missing since windows update and USB Boot visible since then.
    Tried
    - uninstall / rollback drivers
    - installed realtek camera drivers found by hardware ID
    - edited Friendly Name in Windows Registry
    - checked updates in device manager and windows updates

    Laptop : Acer Predator PH315-51
    Windows 10 20H2 build 19042.1237

    Hardware ID :
    USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5841&REV_0103&MI_00
    USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5841&MI_00

    Got my camera working ,

    Steps:
    - uninstall drivers for USB Boot under Camera ( tick box uninstall drivers from device if prompt )
    - Device Manager > Actions (shortcut: Alt + a) > Scan for handware chnages
    - USB Boot will again show up under Camera
    - Follow the steps to rename USB boot to HD WebCam : https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-rename-devices-in-device-manager-for-windows-10
    - Shutdown laptop ( do not restart , its not the same )
    - wait 30 sec
    - press power button and keep pressing F2 to bring up bios menu
    - Do not change anything in BIOS
    - Go to last tab ( use right arrow key to navigate) and select Exit Discarding change
    - When windows will boot , check camera
    - Also check if the name in Device Manager > Camera still stay HD WebCam

I know this sounds technically absurd but it worked for me
