Hello there. I installed ADATA 240gb sata m.2 drive on my nitro 5 AN515-43 2018 ryzen 2500U model. Sometimes it shows as bootable drive on bios and sometimes not. Though it always show on bois information screen. First I clonned windows on it, first time it booted successfully, then it didn't show up and laptop booted normally through hdd. Then i installed fresh windows on it first 2 3 times it booted normally, then switched back to hdd. Now it is not showing up even it installed windows 2 3 times on it.

  • Hi,
Do you still have Windows installation in HDD? If so, remove HDD and use only the M.2 SSD and try booting with it, once you are satisfied with it, you have to format HDD after saving all important data to an external external HDD.

i have similar issue like you. in my case the laptop has two EFI partition, one in the hdd and the other one in new ssd. it's there because the tool im using to clone the os didnt "delete" the old EFI (for a prevention i think) after succesfull cloning, so bios still registered the hdd as bootable drives because there's still original EFI there. even after i switch bootable drives in BIOS menu to boot in SSD, its always switch back to hdd (there's no System OS only EFI partition). so, when i delete that old EFI on hdd and everything is good.
