Hey everyone,

I hope you are all well and safe.

I'm new to the laptop scene and need some advice on my laptop.

I bought the 2021 Nitro 5 that is specced with an i7 10750H, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD Storage and a 3060 rtx card. I haven't used it much but noticed that when trying need for speed heat, the game runs weird. It runs ultra settings between 25fps and 45fps, but the drop in frames is big. It drops from 45fps to 30fps then immediately back up to 48fps and then a second or two later back down to 26fps randomly. All my other games run great. Doom Eternal on Max settings I get 146fps, The Witcher 3 max settings with hair works full 60fps, and a few others also running that great. It's only NFS heat that is messing me around. I noticed with NFS heat that my CPU runs up to 92 Degrees (Celcius) or 197.2 F and GPU around 65 Degrees (Celcius) 149 F sometimes 75 degrees 167 F.

Could it be that my CPU is throttling? If so, would a good quality cooling pad help solve this issue? I'm not knowledgeable about opening the laptop and doing a thermal paste repaste as I don't want to mess anything up or will Undervolting help solve this issue using Throttlestop? I'm also not familiar with Throttlestop. I'm not that technical with these things.

Can someone kindly assist me with a solution? It would be great to get my CPU temps down at least to around 80 degrees (Celcius)

Thanks in advance.

Are you playing the games while plugged in and using the high performance profile from nitro sense?

I am playing the games plugged in and the high-performance profile is set up indeed.
