How do I increase RAM speed/frequency on the AN517-52-78NA

I believe the highest ram speed/frequency on the AN517-52-78NA is 3200mhz, I bought some Crucial Ballistix DDR4 16GB RAM (8GBx2) 3200mhz:
Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G32C16S4B 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Laptop Gaming Memory Kit, 16GB (8GB x2), CL16, Black - Crucial (amazon.co.uk)

I installed the new RAM into my computer and it went well with nothing bad happening, then after I go into the task manager to see the speed/frequency and it says its running at 2667mhz, I looked around everywhere to see how to change the speed/frequency and people on YouTube said to go into the BIOS and enable xmp, but I looked for that and nothing came up. Does anyone know how to change the speed/frequency to 3200mhz if its possible? Thanks

  • Hi,
No, you can not enable XMP in BIOS, I would suggest you return these modules and get modules with JEDEC profiles.

Just as an additional information Crazify, the AN517-52 comes with two different CPU's, I don't know what your laptop has as you haven't told us your CPU specs? Check that out first as that could be a factor also. The Comet Lake type CPU's like the I5-10300H or the I7-10750H the suggested memory is the DDR4 2666/2933MHz but it can also run the DDR4-3200MHz, the Ballistix overclocked memory is not suitable. If you have a Coffee Lake type CPU of the likes of the i5-9300H or the I7-9750H then the suggested memory is DDR4 2400/2666.

    Hi,
Your model is different from the model discussed in this thread, you need to buy memory modules DDR4 3200MHz with JEDEC profiles.

ok, thanks appreciate the help. just another question if you or anyone else can help. I'm looking for a good game something with nice graphics. i've not had a gaming pc/laptop long and i've played rust which is pretty good but seems a bit like minecraft, to me anyways. I also brought arma 3 and like this a bit more for the realistic gameplay. only thing is it looks a bit old. not sure if it is an old game but i'm sure there's better out there. I was a big fan of battle field 4 on xbox. I do play old-school command & conquer & c&c yuri's revenge also hero's and generals.  enlisted ain't bad for a free game to i guess.
can anyone recommend any additional upgrades i may want to think about in the future once i send back my ram and get the correct modules.
cheers again for the fast and super helpful response.
    kindest regards, Dan  👍
