Acer Nitro XV24OY - Black bars on sides and top of display

I recently bought the Acer Nitro XV24OY. The other day I noticed there are thin (~1/2 inch) black bars on the sides and top of my display. I've tried adjusting the resolution and aspect ratio, but neither helped. When I tried to manually resize the desktop using NVIDIA Control Panel, the width and height is already maxed. My husband has the exact same monitor; purchased a few weeks earlier and it has the exact same problem.

Is this a settings issue; or is the monitor just built that way? I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew there were black bars around the edge.

Have you tried adjusting the display scaling settings. If not please change the scaling and share the update.

    Hulabulia,

Is there any damages in the cable connected with the monitor.
