I have been trying to install Win 8.1 alongside Windows 10 but I get this error message at the option to select the partition to install the software. ( I have shrunk the HDD and created a Win 8.1 partition)

No signed drivers found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.

I have searched the usb disk that contains Windows 8.1 files but no luck! I used Rufus to create the boot disk.

Where can I find these drivers?

We need to know which Spin 3 model you have. Some of the newer ones will not have drivers for that old of an OS. The model number should be something like SP3xx-xxx-xxxx.

OK, the SP314-54N models use Intel's 10th generation Ice Lake chips. As such they are new enough that Intel likely hasn't written W8.1 drivers. I wouldn't be surprised to find many things just will not work right with the old OS. Why do you need to run W8.1? You might be able to get away with running it in a VM using generic drivers.

    Thanks billsey.

I need Win 8 to program DSP settings on a Behringer amp as the software has to run on usb2.

I suppose I could try a VM but I won't hold my breath.

The other install I was attempting was to install LInux Mint 20 but during install I get to the option to select a partition (none visible BTW) to install Mint I get an error message saying as RST is being used and to change to AHCI. Was directed to help.ubuntu.com/rst   Is there another workaround you could suggest?

Have you tried installing the W8.1 driver in Windows 10 using the compatibility mode? It should work fine...
