BIOS not appearing with F2 - Spin 5

I just bought an Acer Spin 5 and everything works as advertised except the BIOS start. The manual says "To activate the BIOS utility, press F2 while the computer logo is being
displayed." This does not work. I've tried many other key combinations without success. I am able to get to the BIOS through Windows UEFI but I don't understand why the manual is so wrong on such an important capability. I can forsee a time when I may need to access the BIOS without going through Windows.

Anyone else experience this?

No need to hit extra keys, it's going to either be F2 or Fn-F2 depending on whether your function keys are in media mode or not. Start clicking away at the key as soon as you turn the power on and it should take you into the BIOS before Windows starts to load.

Have you tried to hold down the Fn key and keep tapping the F2 key when bootup until you see the BIOS page? That should work.

In some PCs, keep tapping the "Del" key will get to the BIOS. You have not given us your  full model number.

Yes, I tried that, along with the F12, F10, Del keys. My model number is SP513-54N-54AL. Sorry I forgot to mention that.

You may already be doing this but I'll mention it anyway. Immediately after you turn the laptop on, start repeatedly tapping the F2 key i.e. start before you see the Acer logo. Keep doing that during the Acer logo display. If the F2 key is being recognised, the BIOS screen appears shortly after the Acer logo display starts.

The other thing to check is whether the F2 key works! It may be a faulty key sensor. On my Swift 3, the fn+F2 key toggles the Wi-Fi on/off. Check whether that (or the equivalent on the Swift 5) occurs when the F2 key is pressed. Alternately, test the F2 key in an application that has a shortcut action associated with the F2 key e.g. F2 in Excel or Windows Explorer starts edit mode.

It worked! I just started repeatedly tapping the F2 key immediately after pressing the power button. The Acer logo appeared briefly, followed by a blank screen then the BIOS screen. Totally different from the Users Manual but as long as it works. Many thanks, Athwart! :)
