I just bought the Acer V5-122P but have a problem with the screen resolution setting. When I go to the control panel the Resolution says it is 1366-768 (Recommended) but there is a warning triangle under it that says "Your resolution is lower than 1280x960. Some items might not fit on your screen." I have tried setting it lower then back to the 1366x960 to see if the message with go away but nothing seems to change.

I have checked for updates but there are no updates available. Any clue what might be causing this and how to fix it?

I am running Windows 8.

    Hey,

I have a V5-122P as well. It has the same message. I have seen it on other laptops before, but not all, so I don't know what is actually responsible for it.

It is a pretty stupid message. I work in an electronics department of a retailer and 11 of the 13 laptops(Windows only) we sell have the 1366x768 resolution. The majority of non-Mac latptops are this resolution(up to 15.6"), which would suggest that if this were an actual problem, it would *** a great deal of people off. I know I have seen the message on others at work, but I don't think all.

Perhaps it is an AMD/Radeon thing? I'll take a look when I'm back at work to see if there is a pattern.

You probably shouldn't worry about it, just don't look at your screen resolution properties Smiley Tongue

The screen resolution warning seems to have something to do with the screen dpi. I found that adjusting the text size gets rid of the warning.

On the Screen Resolution settings of the Control Panel there is a text link that says "Make text and other items larger or smaller".

When you click on it you will get to magnification options. It should be defaulted to "Medium - 125%". If you change it to "Smaller - 100%" and restart when it asks, or at your leisure, you will see the error disappear.

Because the V5 is a 11.6" screen and it is touch Screen enabled. I believe they decided to default the DPI of the screen to 125% instead of the normal 100%. Probably because some inputs onscreen would be more difficult with such small text.

The trouble with any over DPI percentage is you will get a warning that some things won't appear correctly. Browsers like Firefox used to have issues with any setting above 100% DPI. If your fine with how things look with 100% then you can increase font size within a browser for bigger text. This might work better then increasing DPI on everything.
