Hi All,

Yesterday i got my Acer V5 571P-6831 laptop.

unfortunately the harddrive storage shows 451GB but the actual harddrive capacity is 750GB for this model when i bought :-(.

where is the missing storage capacity ?

or did i got the wrong hard drive(500GB)?

Kindly suggest what could be the problem.

Regards

Akhtar

In order to pursue this, I will need some additional information from your computer.

If you have the serial number, please send it to me in a private message.

I would like for you to provide a screenshot of what you see in Disk Management.

To get to Disk Management in Windows 8, follow these steps:

    1. Move the mouse into the upper right corner of the screen.
    2. Click on the magnifying glass (Search)
    3. Type in the search box, "Disk Management" and click on Settings below the search box.
    4. Click on "Create and format hard disk partitions" to launch Disk Management
    5. Expand the box so all of the information displayed is visible and take a screenshot.

Please post the screenshot so that we can see how your system is presently configured.

In looking at the screenshot you provide, the drive does not appear to be a 750GB drive.

The hard drive appears to be properly allocated for a 500GB drive.

Double check this by going into device manager (Windows key + Pause/Break and click on Device Manager)

Then under Disk drives, let me know what is listed there.

Also, I'm curious why there appear to be two optical drives on the system.

    Thanks for the reply!!

Yes,Indeed the seller confirmed that i got the 500GB hard drive instead of 750GB.... I paid for 750GB drive hence i have asked for replacement of the laptop with the seller.

Hopefully will get the correct configuration laptop now :-)
