Hello. Someone here that actually has the power to request Microsoft or whoever does the pushing for the latest audio driver update for Acer Nitro 5 laptops equipped with Realtek and DTS? The latest audio driver update deployed on Windows Update is really broken. The version being sent out right now is 6.0.9081 and it caused my laptop a BSOD after restarting to install the latest updates from Windows update. After the restart, my audio is broken entirely as in "No output device blah blah blah". I installed an older audio driver (which is the latest on Acer's website version 6.0.9054.1) and I got my speaker and headphone audio back BUT every time I connect Bluetooth speakers or earphones, the output audio device keeps toggling from speakers to the Bluetooth headphones back and forth really quickly that it causes DTS Sound Unbound to use too much CPU. I once thought that it was a Bluetooth driver problem but after reinstalling Bluetooth drivers from Acer's website, Bluetooth audio still broken. I managed a way to fix my Bluetooth audio (FINALLY) in a couple of days trying out things (including downgrading to older versions of the audio driver, reinstalling the latest audio driver from Acer's website again and again, uninstalling some things in Device Manager). Now, everything is already working perfectly as it is. I'm on the latest drivers found on Acer's website (driver version 6.0.9054.1) but Windows Update still keeps pushing out driver updates for DTS and Realtek (the buggy 6.0.9081) and I don't want to go through the whole process again of fixing my audio back for it to only be updated again by Windows Update, even though I already disabled automatic driver installation, the buggy driver is still being pushed. I paused Windows Updates entirely just to make sure my audio won't break again in a couple of days but I hope Acer or Microsoft is gonna take action about this. I am not the only one affected, there are others also in the Acer Nitro PH official Facebook group. I didn't expect that even Windows Update can deploy buggy drivers too which is really scary especially for people that always like to keep their devices up to date.

I had a BSOD on one of these realtek updates through windows update, Also still have flashing video on Twitch and Youtube and etc. when running Chrome and Edge on GPU, with Hardware acceleration enabled through lastest Nvidia driver. So I just rolled them both back factory and disabled driver updates until they can fix them.

To stop Windows from doing automatic driver updates, navigate to Control Panel > System & Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings. Then choose "No (your device might not work as expected)."

I already did this but something like "Realtek - Extension blah blah" keeps appearing. I don't want to install them again because I don't want to go over it again. I hope someone will pull out that buggy driver update for the meantime 😢
