laptop performance from slowing down when closing the lid? - Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-72XD

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-72XD, and I like to connect it to an external monitor to do some gaming. However, everytime I close the lid, the performance suffers dramatically. I've read on some forums that going into the BIOS and disabling power management can help with this issue, but there seems to be no such option when I enter the BIOS menu. Can anyone help me out here?

    the SAME problem occurs when you set the lid to DO NOTHING?

    Yea, and I've changed all possible windows setting for max performance too

    air enters from above (between the keyboard and monitor) and exits from the back and sides, closing the lid overlaps the entering of air, perhaps because of this, the performance drops so that the laptop does not overheat.

    I suppose that can make sense, but is there no way to bypass this?

    I think you already did it all, but lest check it. 
    make battery to Best performance

    then check the task manager, you should to get boosted cpu speed


    also :


    now close the lid and check if cpu speed changed ? (there shouldn't be any changes, but still I wonder what the result will be)

    egydiocoelho have more knowledge for bios setting, maybe you can give us some advance for energy management in bios ?

    Acer has released a new bios version and a new firmware for the nvidia graphics card, which improves performance, see:
