I be using my predator 300 (2019) and all of a sudden the fans kick  on when i check the predator sense software i see 86 c temps for no reason and for very less cpu use and when i kick on the fans to full  it again goes little down but this heating all of sudden is it a virus or problem with my cpu

    Hi SKC18,

check in bios the temp while idle, restart and push F2 key to enter bios. check it for 10 minutes and see if the temp rising and when it stop to rise.

It is due to the turbo boost.

Right click on your battery icon.
    Select Power Options
Click change plan setting on the selected plan
Click on change advanced power settings
    Click on processor power management
Go to maximum processor state and set both too 99%

Although your cpu should not run that hot even with turbo boost. Check some basic system cooling guides like keep it on a flat surface, elevating the laptop, etc.

Reapplying the thermal paste and cleaning the fans is the best idea to reduce temps.

Do it at your own risk, I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong.

@Mangalam disabling turbo boost its not an option might as well buy a core i3 because its a waste of money optimize windows properly undervolt and if needed repaste with kryonaut or similar if able to without voiding the warranty thats the only solution to not loose performance  :)

@xapim Ok I agree that it reduces performance but undervolting is a bit complex and might cause damage so I just suggested to disable turbo boost that worked in my case and I got almost the same fps.

@Mangalam Sorry to completely disagree with you again but undervolting never caused neither never will cause any damage anywhere i dunno where you have read that and its not complex all the confs are already pre made by someone else and properly tested its just download and switch on nothing else so again i dunno where u got that info  from follow my signature links to learn more from the fb predator group or check the thread below :)
