GPU not showing on NitroSense & CPU fan speed not displayed correctly after opening pc

Hello everyone!

Recently, I took apart my gpu and cpu because it needed a really deep cleaning. I've had it for a few years (so it's off warranty), now, and it was never cleaned. After cleaning it and putting it back together, my computer is working perfectly fine. The fans on both my gpu and cpu are spinning, but my gpu fan isn't even detected at all on nitrosense (it didn't show even before I opened my pc at all) and my cpu fan is showing 0rpm (before the clean it would show the actual speed).

Changing the modes (auto, max, custom) don't actually change the fan speed. My guess is that some sensor/controller is broken. Any solutions?

Also, does the sensor/controller change the speed of my fan based on my system load? If not, then I guess I'm fine if this piece doesn't work because I never change my fan speeds anyways.

I seem to be having the same problem as this person: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/581066/acer-nitro5-an515-54-nitrosense-0-zero-rpm-display-on-all-modes-auto-max-and-custom

It's really hard to tell what happened, but if you want good diagnostic contact your local Acer service.

My opinion is that there is some hardware problem with motherboard.

Open it up and check each and every connection you can. If you found that everything is connected and seated properly, then contact the service center. Unless you have a voltmeter and proper equipment, you cannot test if there are any abnormal voltages/resistances on your components.

I guess I will contact Acer. I have double and triple checked, and everything seems to be connected fine. I'm not tech-savvy enough to know if any visible part on my motherboard is faulty, though. I just kind of remembered where all the plugs and screws went and did the steps in reverse to put it back together.

    Did you resolve this?
