Predator 17 Battery Not Charging

Hello Acer Community!  I've read similar threads that are now closed.  My Acer Predator 17 has had some strange moments, but now I have the dreaded "0% available (plugged in)" message that others have mentioned.  I tried the pinhole battery reset and uninstalling the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" and this has not solved the problem.  I keep the machine plugged in all of the time, so I'm not in crisis mode.  The machine did one random shutdown last night, though.  This could really crush my workday if I lose stuff I've been working on.

Did anyone ever successfully solve this problem?  As stated, I've tried the recommended solutions and they have not worked.  My yellow, battery charging indicator light comes on periodically for about five seconds and then shuts off.  Occasionally the battery icon looks like it is charging, but there is no sustained charging going on and I haven't seen anything other than 0% available since yesterday.

Thank you for any information you might provide.  I hope someone found a fix for this as the threads I read were at least two years old.

    Hi BillyB2021,

Can you able to remove the battery.

Well...trick question, Easwar.  I saw in a different thread that people have removed their batteries.  I'm not really good with that type of process.  I took the smaller back panel off, but there is no easy place to just remove the battery.  Someone indicated you could actually take off the whole back to get at the battery compartment and remove and/or replace the battery.  I have not done this and I'm not sure I could do so without screwing something else up.

    Hi BillyB2021,

Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.

Yes.  The yellow 'battery charging' light comes on intermittently for a few seconds at a time, then goes out.  Also, the battery meter indicator icon on the monitor occasionally looks like it is charging, then it stops.  When I rollover the battery icon, it says "0% available (plugged in)"  So, it seems the battery knows it is plugged in but does not charge, yet it repeatedly seems to try to charge?

Ok Easwar and Acer Community...so now the yellow battery charging indicator light flashes nonstop.  Instead of the meter saying "0% available (plugged in)", it now says "255% available (plugged in)"  Is this thing going to blow up?  When I unplug it the computer goes off immediately, so if the battery has 255% juice I'm not sure where it is going.  Gosh darnit.  Not happy with my Acer purchase.

    Hi,
I had this problem, if battery indicator comes up as yellow/orange light for couple of seconds and then turns off that means your battery is probably dead. I had this issue and had to replace the battery. I have a different issue now with orange light being on but battery not charging (this happened 1.5 years after battery swap)
