Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 - Battery Icon frequently does not show up on startup

Hi all,

For the past 2 days my laptop starts up without the battery icon in task bar, an easy fix is to disable and re-enable ACPI battery in device manager to make it show up again.

Are these signs of a faulty battery or is this normal? My battery is only a year and a half old, I make sure not to overcharge or drain it and keep it between 40%-80% all the time, I've checked the cables it is plugged in properly.

How do you prevent this from happening?

    Hi ShangWang,

It is not a faulty battery because when you disable and re-enable ACPI battery in device manager it comes ON. So it just a software malfunction so no need to worry about it if it happens again do the same troubleshoot again. If the issue still not resolved it will be a hardware issue.

When the battery icon is not showing up, does the laptop work normally on battery power?

Yep, everything is completely normal it even shows up on the lock screen just not on the task bar, this is on a laptop that has gone through chkdsk c:/r and a clean install of windows. It's just annoying that's all.

It will sound silly, but have you tried to click in the little arrow in the right side of your task bar to check if the icon is not hidden there and then click hold and place it in the taskbar.
