How to get rid of thin vertical lines running through my monitor? - Acer ET322QU

I have a Acer ET322QU which has these thin vertical lines running through the display. More prominent on lighter backgrounds, do not show up on completely black background. They are there on boot up in the Acer logo but not the rest of the screen when not connected to any device. They are there when connected to Laptop via HDMI to USB-C cable and also through a docking station to the laptop. Also have tried 2 different HDMI/USB-C cables. It took the screen shot below, which the lines do not appear to show up.  Assume it is a hardware issue, but asking if there is anything to be tried. Thanks.

    Hi jsully,

    Monitor self test,

    1. Power OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug all the cables.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    4. Turn ON the unit and check.

Turned off the unit, disconnected the only cable which was the HDMI, then pressed and held down power button for 30 seconds, turned unit back on and same issue.

There wasn't a power cable on the monitor as well as the HDMI? :) A power drain pretty much needs the power cable to be removed as well...

Pretty sure I unplugged from the outlet, but I will pull it from the monitor as well and try again. :-)

Did procedure again, disconnecting power cable as well just to be sure, issue remains. Thin vertical lines, equal distant across the entire monitor

Most often that type of artifact is either the cable or the power, either introduces noise into the video signal which manifests as lines on the screen. It sounds like you have tried multiple cables, but be sure you have tested all steps in the chain. The try moving the power plug to a different outlet or routing the wiring so power and video aren't running in parallel anywhere. Best test it to take the monitor to a different computer and plug it in using different cables and power there. If the same lines show up it's much more likely hardware in the monitor than environment.

I know this is an old post, but haven't came across many describing the same issue. I've been having this exact issue since I received my monitor back in April 2023. From what I have researched it is called "screen door effect" like you're looking through a wire screen door, or the mesh screen of a window. 1440p 165Hz to replace my 15 year dying monitor that was developing lines in the screen, and it looks this monitor looks the same or worse than the old monitor it was replacing with lines going through it. It is horribly annoying, and seems there is nothing you can do about it.

I feel a new monitor is the only answer, but Acer support has been absolutely zero help, if you can even reach them in the first place. Took me 3 months before I was finally able to get through on their site, as their site was constantly down with errors. Then when I finally did get through, support gave me the usual "Have you tried XYZ, then just ghosted me after nothing resolved my issue and I asked if I could exchange the product for a new one or something since it's still under warranty. Got nothing. Anyone reading this in the future, sorry you purchased an Acer product from a company that doesn't care about you.

I know this post is old, but I( am going through the same situation as well with my monitor. It was so ***** expensive too and my other computer got a little HP monitor and that one runs better than this one. I got the Acer Predator XB241H. The vertical colorful lines have gotten so annoying I have to hook my computer to my TV to play games and stuff.
