It would need to be HDMI, and it can output 144hz as long as the Res isn't too high and the hdmi port is connected to the GPU :)

If you head into the Nvidia control panel under Physx there should be a little picture of a hdmi port and around it what gpu it's connected to

The 1650 is hdmi 2.0b which is good for 1080p144hz with 10 or even 12 bit colour, and it can push 144hz at 1440p just with 8 bit colour ( https://glenwing.github.io/adapters/?output=HDMI )

Features such as vrr / gsync / freesync most likely won't work as a heads up either

So it depends on the version of HDMI, the resolution, colour range, and the remote screen

144hz at 1080 works at 1.4b which almost any hdmi port will be , but the issue is usually with the screens edid. The edid says 'what' is supported, so for things like tv's they usually stick to it strictly which causes the weirdness of saying it's not supported . 'offically' I think the spec states that at 1080p it's only ok upto 120hz but that's just a paperwork limitation not a technical limitation :)

Changing aspect ratio can help, but isn't recommended, the overarching 'thing' which matters is the bandwidth of the connection which was has gone from less than 5gbps per second when it was first launched to around 50 in hdmi 2.1
