Hi everyone. I have been using an Acer laptop Aspire V15 Nitro VN7-593G for almost 2 years and 7 months. Last week, in order to install some software, I disabled the antivirus of this laptop for several hours while it was connected to the Internet. Almost immediately after that, the annoying sound of my laptop fan started. I usually use this laptop for normal tasks and programming. When I turn on the laptop, even when no program is running on it, the fan noise of this laptop is loud and annoying. Usually after several hours, the sound of the laptop fan stops for two or three seconds and then the annoying sound starts again. I also used “DustDefender” option several times to clean my laptop fan, but the fan noise has been slightly reduced. What solutions do you suggest to solve the annoying fan sound problem?

Thanks.

Apparently, most laptop fans start making noise after 2 years+ use, my 2018 E5-576G started doing the same thing recently. Only when the laptop is idle, running a resource intensive program made the noise go away. It didn't affect cooling performance but to make sure that fan itself is the problem I replaced it and voila! the sound went away just like that.

OEM replacement fans are dirt cheap on Aliexpress, less than $5 with shipping in my case. If you don't have qualms about opening your laptop up replacing the fan is as easy as pie! Apart from the keyboard, Aspire series is quite modular which means upgrading and replacing parts is quite easy.

    Hi.
Thank you very much for your answer.
Before this laptop, I had a Sony one. The Sony laptop has been working around 12 years, but it does not have such a problem (the noise sound of fan). Also, the Sony laptop has been working until now. Thus I have not expected to encounter this problem (the sound of fan) in a new laptop (Acer) after very low years :o .
    Good luck.

Well, the fan used in my Acer was just $2.97 on Aliexpress with shipping, and that's OEM - I mean it could be a copy but I highly doubt it. Acer must be getting them for less than $1 when buying bulk, so no wonder it starts making some noise after 2 years. Personally I don't mind though - because this means I can just replace fans every 1-2 years instead of cleaning when I open my laptop up to overhaul the cooling system
