Hi,
My Acer Nitro 5 has only a black screen on power up, the keyboard lights up and fans kick in but nothing else. I can see some backlight on the screen but no images. I've tried plugging into a monitor and there's no output there either. Last thing i did with it was shutdown and let it install Windows updates. Any ideas, I'm thinking an update has messed something up but can't find a way to roll this back.

    Hi PSIONIC,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Power OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug all the cables.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    4. Turn ON the unit and check.

    Hi,
I've tried this, including unplugging the battery and then holding down the power button, unfortunately no change.
I wanted to try restoring to before the update but i don't see anything on screen no matter what buttons i press on boot.

    Hi PSIONIC,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

Thanks for the reply, i tried your steps and unfortunately it made no difference. On some further testing I have managed to boot my laptop by removing the secondary NVME drive. Not sure if the drive failed or the updates messed it up but it was only there currently for a bit more storage.
