Aspire A315-21 won't boot with memory upgrade

Hi,
I just bought Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM (P/N : CT8G4SFS8266) which is listed as a memory upgrade for my Aspire A315-21, inserted it (well seated), then tried to boot up... But nothing comes up... The screen stays black... I can hear the fan running, but that's it... I even tryed to plug an external screen into HDMI port, but nothing either.

I did the BIOS update (to V1.25) but it doesn't help...

The memory is listed as being compatible : https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/acer/aspire-a315-21

Here's the model number and part number, as displayed on Acer's website when I enter my S/N :

Aspire A315-21
Model Name: A315-21
Part Number: NX.GNVAA.003

Here's the data displayed when entering my S/N on Acer's waranty Website :
A315-21-99E5-CA W10HML64A6T/A9-9420/BT/8G/1TB/2L4.8/15.6

When I put back my (poor) good old 4GB memory in the memory bank, everything's fine...

Am I doing something wrong ??? What can be done to let my good ol'boy recognize my memory upgrade ???

Thanks folks!
Simon

    Good Morning SimonDrainville !

You must disconnect the internal battery before installing hardware.
After installing, before connecting, perform the battery reset to discharge static energy.
