Does anyone do extensive testing of the full-hd video playback on the W510 ?

I searched a lot on the internet and only found very controversial statements to this question.

At the end of the day I´m interested in 1080p mkv (h.264 & VC1) 50fps playback as this are a very common

formats for digital-tv-recording/archivation (even if most of it is only streamed with 1080i or 720p).

Maybe some contributors have allready made some testing and are willing to share their experiences.

Thank you !

    1080p works without any probs.

If you use Media Player Classic the CPU load will sit somewhere around 12 percent.

Slightly higher when using VLC (around 20%) .

Got mugged in Paris and lost my trusty W510 !

Bougt a new one and guess what - I couldn't get 1080p videos to work anymore.

With hardware accelaration enabled in Media Player Classic (MPC-HC) I would only get a green screen.

And with hardware accelaration disabled, the CPU would sit around 80%.

I knew I had it working before and spent all night to figure out what the problem was:

    1. Re-installed MPC from here: http://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm

    2. Start MPC and go to View --> Options -->External Filters

    3. Click on "Add Filters" and select "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder"

    3. Click on "Prefer"

    4. Restart MPC with a 1080p file and enjoy hardware accelerated video with CPU less than 10%.
