Hinge Screws for Aspire A315-56

Member Posts: 5 New User
Hi, recently broke the hinge on my Aspire A315-56. Evidently the Aspire A315-21 screws don't fit. I am curious if Acer will replace them or if there's another way to get them.

Go to Amazon and search/order a laptop screw kit for less than $10. These kits contain hundreds of different size screws used in just about all consumer laptops that you'll ever own.   :)  Jack E/NJ

I need M2.5mm*2.5mm*7mm which is not standard size in those basic screw kits

The screws are part no. 86.GD0N2.007 or  2.5mm x 6mm. Not 7mm. Only the screw grip is used to measure the length. Head is not included. Just about every kit has this size. Very common.

    Nah, I am missing 86.h14n2.002 or 2.5 x 2.5 length x 8mm head width from here.

However kits don't typically have 7 or 8 mm heads which is equally as important as 2.5mm length.

    I think I'm gonna try https://www.amazon.com/Machine-Screws-Laptop-Dia-7mm-Metric/dp/B073R75XTS

    I found M2.5 x 2.5 length with a 7mm head diameter and they seemed to work. LaptopScrewsDirect.com

$40 for new backplate $10 for new screws and $250 saved from Acer's scam of a replacement program for a poorly designed hinge :)
