why are these apps running on my nvidia 1650 instead of the integrated gpu. Previously when i checked there were no apps running on this gpu and it said inactive. Is this normal or is it taking more power because my high power gpu is running all the time.

It is a normal process, GPU is working just fine.

I have Acer Nitro 7 and the same is happening with my machine. Even Chrome runs on a dedicated GPU. This was not the case before but I believe that after a certain update, this started happening.

I also have Nitro 7 and the same is happening with me. Someone suggest how to force-stop them from running on the dedicated card.

I just realised I posted the same comment before and nobody gave a [Sensitive Content]

Anyway, here's the solution if someone else is looking:
Go to graphic setting: and look for the default graphic setting: disable GPU Scheduling.

Also, you can allocate dedicated GPU to your favourite apps only within graphic settings.
