I have an Acer Predator Triton 500 PT515-51 with a few keyboard keys not working properly.  (ESC, FN, Left arrow, and the letter to the left of W) I did recently upgrade my SSD, but I'm pretty sure the problem started before that.  I have to continuously press the keys before they start to work properly or mash them, but it only works for a few seconds. I don't think it's software related, because I have the same issue in safe mode.  I've tried restarts, battery resets, safe mode, and reopened the laptop to check for loose cables.  Using the site I was able to find the cable for the keyboard backlight, but not for the keyboard itself.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Thanks

So far I can only see replacement palmrest + keyboard at around $150 ( don't know why must buy both?)

For individual key replacement try this, at $9 per key:

Lat time I replaced my laptop keyboard, it was only around $25.

Thanks for the replies.  Can it really be a mechanical failure?  Could it also be the ribbon cable for the keyboard?  I read that a loose cable can cause some keys not to work, the problem is that I don't know which one is for the keyboard. I rarely use the Q key, but I'll try your recommendations and check the keys.

You guys were on the right track.  I just checked some of the keys by removing the cap.  I think my Fn key or left arrow was stuck and caused the others to stop working.  I don't know how it happened, but I'm good now.  Thanks for the quick help guys, I appreciate it.

It is always a good idea to check the connection first, as this is the most economical way. Since you opened up the panel already, take out the cable and reseat it to ensure good connection.
Mechanical failure is not always the reason for a bad keyboard.
The last time I changed my Dell laptop keyboard was because of some wires burnt within the ribbon cable. I could see some materials missing, probably vaporized ( as the ribbon cable is transparent).
