Swift 3 My Battery Wear Level is 71%

Hi There

So I have a problem on my Acer Swift 3. At first, I noticed this when my laptop refused to charge to 100% and it's stuck on 95% (Plugged In, Not Charging). So I use HWMonitor to see the Wear Level of the battery, at first, it was 11%. A few weeks later, it increases to 27%. Just today, it increases significantly, to 71%.

My HWMonitor shows this at the moment.

Then I look up on my battery report using PowerShell, it is like this.

I take this as a time to replace my battery ? Because recently I just installed an SSD and 4 gigs of RAM into this laptop, and I found out that the battery is weirdly swole.(the laptop is from December 2018)
I'm afraid that the wear level is going to worsen each day, do you have any explanation regarding that Capacity Drop on 4 AM in 12th of May from 34k mWh to 13k mWh? I'm really afraid of this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks.

You can try to unplug and plug in the battery for resetting it. But you should consider replacing it since it is starting to swell, it might damage your case or other components.

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi Alcor,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Yes, if the battery is swelling you should replace it ASAP. Swelling is the first sign of failure and fully failed can be catastrophic (fires like we used to see when Lithium-Ion batteries were new). Which Swift 3 model do you have? It should be something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx.

    Hi @Easwar

Thanks for the guide. I tried it, the results are the same for two of them.
Actually I have tried to uninstall the drivers and restarting it, also I have done resetting the battery using the pinhole. So far no solution.

As for @billsey , yes, I am thinking to replace the battery as soon as I can. But I heard that there are some batteries which are fake and not the real one. Do you have any information regarding the real model build for AC14B7K battery on Swift 3? Anything will be appreciated.

    Also, it's getting worse.

I have to know the actual model number in order to look up Acer's part number for your battery.
