swift 3 Hey everyone, I recently purchased an Acer Swift 3 (model SF314-42-R9YN) for 900 Cad from Amazon. It's been about 2 days since I got this laptop and I though it was an amazing one. It's the first time I've dealt with Acer and found what they did awesome. To my disappointment, my expectations were crushed by a first sudden restarting from the computer. Thinking it was probably just a Windows Update (even though the laptop is super-recent), I continued my browsing on the Internet, only to have another restart, this time with a BsoD! I don't really know what to do. I have a 1-year warranty, but it takes about 30 days to get it all done and this laptop I ordered was really urgent for my job. The other thing that boggles my mind though, is the fact that I only used it for casual web browsing and Word documents, the CPU rarely reaching more than 40% of usage. I haven't even installed Steam, GoG or the Epic Games Store! If anyone would offer any kind of help, it will be greatly appreciated.

That's a nice model. I'd start by checking what the temperatures are, if it's getting hot enough that could cause issues. Next, if it blue screens again, take a snapshot of the blue screen. That often has better information about the cause. Windows update is actually pretty likely to be doing things with a new laptop, remember it was built some time ago and likely shipped as cargo on a ship, so took some time to get here. Microsoft will certainly have issued updates since then.

Thanks! My temps aren't the problems, but I'll check out Windows issues.

    hi, mine is a sf314-42 R6Y1 model

I also experience some restarting and BSoD at first, but after some windows update, it fixed the issues, last time I got a BSOD was when I tried upping the VRAM of my integrated GPU to 2gig (via advanced BIOS). So I just reverted it back to auto detect settings and everything went smooth again.

I had the same problem today. Got the blue screen of death with WHEA-uncorrectable error. Got the laptop refurbished and it has done this two or three times. Other little quirks like the audio card and trackpad will glitch. Temps are fine 43C. I almost always run this with battery saver enabled. Any way to fix? Thought it might be a bios thing. V1.08 is current bios

One of my systems also restarted the WHEA BSOD again last night, my assumption is that Microsoft pushed an update that broke the Intel audio again. I disabled Intel Display Audio and Intel Smart Sound Technology and they went away.

Hi. Have you still experienced BSOD? and how to do windows update? Sorry, not techie here. I am worried because we have the same laptop. What are the other issues. Please help. Thanks. What to do if I encounter BSoD?
