my headset mic not detected by laptop aspire 715

hi i just bought a new razer headset the sound worked well but when i tested the mic,it was not detected,the only mic worked was the laptop internal mic,how can i solve it ?
my laptop is acer aspire 715

    Try another headset. The razer probably uses the plug sleeve for microphone output to Apple laptops. Newer PC headsets typically use the plug's second ring for microphone output to PCs and the sleeve for ground like the plug on the right.

    Return it to the vendor/seller as defective for a refund before the vendors return merchandise authorization (RMA) period ends. Usually only a few weeks. Jack E/NJ

    Set it as "headset" in either Realtek HD Audio Manager or Realtek Audio Console.

    Then lightly tap your headset mic, see if the signal meter jumps. It it jumps, then the headset mic is working.
