I've searched and all results suggest holding the windows button + power button when starting.

Problem is - thats not working. All I get is a regular boot. Smiley Sad

ok... since I wanted to figure this out myself.. I did some research and was able to do it again. Here's the short list. From the manual I downloaded offline.

    1.
    Turn off the computer completely...
"Press and hold the power button for at least four seconds (the power button’s battery LED should be off).
    OR

    • Tap the Settings charm > Change PC settings > General. Under "Advanced startup", tap Restart now. The "Choose an option" screen displays. Tap Turn off your PC."

    2.

The BIOS utility is a hardware configuration program built into your

    computer's BIOS.

Your computer is already properly configured and optimized, and you do not need to run this utility. However, if you encounter configuration problems, you may need to run it.

To enter the BIOS utility, do the following:

    • Ensure your computer is completely powered off (See "Turning yourcomputer on and off" on page 16). Press and hold the Windows button and then press the Power button."

Clicking shut down from any "windows" menu actually puts it into hibernation... rather than a normal shutdown. so you have to do it the special ways... then hold the windows button... THEN press power... and I released it fairly fast.. either right before or right after Acer logo poped up.. so try releasing it immediately and see if it works.
Hopefully this works fo you now :-)

This is more a Bios utility I believe but as good as it gets. lol     Many normal options are unable to change.

Thanks to sc00ter98 for finding this first. just had to read it several times to get it to work :-)
