Good day, I have an Acer swift 3 which crashed and went into recovery mode but just basically got stuck there and because I ddint sent to lose the data chose to remove the drive and copy the data across, the drive would not let me due to bitlocker recovery being enabled. I have never enabled bitlocker on this laptop and it was bought brand new. The only upgrades i have ever done was to install Microsoft Teams that requires me to registered a Microsoft account (free one using the "outlook.com). I don't have the enycripton and every vendor doc suggests to contact the OEM.

It's possible the drive has gone into failure and corrupted the low level settings that make it seem like Bitlocker is turned on. If that is the case you are unlikely to be able recover any of the data, because the password will be completely random...

It could have been appied when you installed teams, did it connect to a work server?
If you are logged in with a Microsoft account on the laptop it should have backed the key up in your accountif you follow the first bit of this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/finding-your-bitlocker-recovery-key-in-windows-10-6b71ad27-0b89-ea08-f143-056f5ab347d6
Hopefully it will be in the microsoft account of either the account you made or the one you logged in with!0 -
Unfortunately went through that process with that link and found no backup of they key there either0

So at this point the only thing you can do is try a factory reset. You'll loose all your data but it should be usable again... If that fails then the next step is a clean install of Windows, which loses all your data again, and also any Acer specific utilities.
