No Bootable device - Swift 1 SF113-31

Suddenly my Acer Swift 1 SF113-31 refuses to boot, only showing a blank screen with the text "no bootable device".

The SDD hard drive shows up in the Information tab in the Bios setup but does not show on the Boot tab.

I can't access the Boot mode to try and change from [UEFI] to Legacy and I have tried with Secure Boot both enabled and disabled, no luck.

Also, today I took it apart and too the SDD disk out, gave it a bit of contact spray and reseated it, still no luck.

I also tried resetting the battery with a paper clip in the back, didn't work either.

Any ideas?

    thank you all for replying, I put in a new SSD and the laptop is working like a charm again!

    It even has twice the space now as I put in an SSD M.2 256GB Intenso Top Performance (INT-3832440)

    OK, do you have a Windows install flash drive? If not, do you have access to another system so you can create one? When booted on an install image you can use the repair mode to check out the drive to make sure everything is set correctly and rebuild the UEFI boot partition if needed.

    Thanks for answering, yes I have tried booting from an USB with the Windows install tool, it could not repair the hard drive.

    Take the  CMOS battery out and leave it out for 15min then replace it, that should reset your bios so that you can access the bios "Boot" section. Then use the Win-10 installation USB to recover the drive. see these guides "No Bootable Device on Windows 10" for an approprite fix.

    I am pretty sure that the SSD is broken, I can't create a new partition on it for reinstalling Windows 10

    For a full reinstall you just delete all the existing partitions then tell the installer to use the unallocated space. If you can't delete a partition then you are likely right, the drive has failed. :( Which model SF113-31 do you have? Some have an M.2 SATA SSD, some have an eMMC SSD. If the latter the drive is soldered to the motherboard and not replaceable, so you have to put an M.2 SATA in and use that instead.

    Luckily it is in a socket, I'll let you know in a few days if the new one I ordered works.

    I wonder if a fresh install on a new SSD will cost me another Windows 10 license, time will tell I guess.

    it won't cost you a license as the oem 10 product code is on your uefi firmware chip inside the laptop  (assuming the laptop came with 10 preinstalled).  It should activate (possibly after a day or so max) after a clean install of a downloaded .iso from MS

    OK, yes that's an M.2 SATA drive and any of them should work fine. I'm surprised it failed, Kingston is usually pretty reliable.

    Hi JimRad,

    In the BIOS page under the title information can you able to see the HDD0/HDD1 options with alpha numeric codes.
