I've been starting up hacker101 and it suggests Parrot OS as it has all the tools I need on there, is it possible to dual boot windows and Parrot OS?

Yes, its possible to dual boot any linux distro with windows. On acer laptops you may need to disable either RST through hitting ctrl+s on the main page on the UEFI and scrolling across to advanced i think, or disabling VMD if its there

Rather than dual boot for something like that, i would recomend a VM though, gives you the ability to suspend, restart, and most importantly snapshot the entire os

And how exactly would I go about doing that? I'm somewhat new to computers and stuff

Well for dual booting its the UEFI options as stated above, disable RST and the drive should appear in the parrot installer, then its just install it.

For VM's just use something like VMware or Vbox, create new vm, and install.
