Desktop random and continuous freezing problem

Hi all,

I have an Aspire M5641 with a Vista operating system. I have upgraded it with Windows 8 preview version (for almost one year) and then with Windows 8. I was happy with it and worked fine for 4 months after Windows 8 upgrade. There was no need to upgrade the Bios at all.

I noticed very bad noise from the computer for some time but did not realize that it is from the fan.

Recently, the computer freezes randomly at any applications (youtube, facebook, internet explorer even when quickly checking personal emails...) and the only option is to press the power button to shutdown. The computer is becoming unusable (can't work for more that 2-5 minutes before it freezes).

First of all, I opened the desktop and cleaned it from dust that may cause the fans to clog or block cooling of the micro-processor. The fans are indeed working and the noise disappeared..

Then, I re-installed Windows 8 (clean installation with reformatting and repartitioning). I even tried Windows 7 to ensure that Windows 8 is not the cause of the problem.

Obviously, there is no virus concern after the clean re-installation of Windows 8.

The freezing problem did not disappear and it is really annoying especially that I have not been successful to find its roots.

Any help is really appreciated.
