So I carn't tell if its the computer or network dropping out, I have read that acer has had previous wifi issues a few months ago. This leaves me comfused and how to fix the problem. Its A brand new machine so if it is the laptop why am I already facing issues with it??

Very frustrated and comfusing

 Heres the error

    Could be A network issue.

It be good to get advice/answers of Acer.

Only thing that doesn’t make sense is when my PC is down my tablet can connect. I’m not have any issues on my tablet yet. Could it be because A PC is bigger and required more data?

    Thanks

To be fair you don't really get to complain, you didn't call Acer, you asked for help from people who bought Acer products. This is a forum, we're not making you a burger at McDonalds, we're not being paid to help you. Just keep that in mind Smiley Happy Anyway, your issueis almost certainly a network problem, but to be sure I would suggest going to the Drivers & Downloads section of the Acer website for your product and download an updated version of your driver. Even if it's the same version as your I would still recommend downloading it. Once the download is complete you need to go to the device manager and uninstall the old driver. Yes I know you can just install the new one but please uninstall the old one first. Once it's uninstalled you can run the intallation file for your new driver. Now restart your unit. Hopefully this solves your issue. If not it would have to be an issue with your router. Just because one device works doesn't mean that they all have to. Settings can be wrong on one device and work fine on another. In this case I would suggest unplugging your router and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes. Then plug it back in. Once it turns back on go to your computer and hit the windows key and the letter R on your keyboard. This will load the run prompt. Type CMD and it will load the command prompt. In the Command prompt type: ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter.

    Ok Thanks.

I do apologize I did get A bit frustrated I do understand that the support service is free.

    Anyway,

I think it is A network issues the problem has expanded and now all devices connected to the network is having issues connecting.

It is the NBN and they are still rolling it out so it is not %100 stable yet. Glad its not the new system. I can now be relieved and contact my ISP.

I thought it wouldn’t be my WiFi because its sending data but not reciving anything from the DNS/Router

Glad to hear that it's not your coputer, and not to worry, I completely undertand the frustration when your new toys don't work haha. Just a quick suggestion. If you're having network problems you could try a power cycle on your modem. I find that the best way to do this is to unplug your router, and disconnect it from your modem. Now unplug your modem and press the reset button for a few seconds. Leave the device unplugged for about a minute. Now plug the modem back in and leave the router unplugged. The modem should connect to your ISP and reconfigure all necessary settings. After a few minutes you can plug the ethernet cable from your router back into the modem, and then plug the router in as well. This should force both systems to auto-config and eliminate any possible networking issues on your end.

While my provider was updating their system in my area I had serious issues. Once they were done I had the same issue you've been having. I just completely forgot until now. Anyway, I hope this helps. Take care!

    Ok Thanks ;.)

So is it safe to reset the rotuer?

The router is from the ISP for the (Nation Broadband Network Australia) and the ISP says not to reset it or turn the router off as it can wipe the router internal memory.

it is comfusing as with most routers you can reset it and connect it back to the ISP without A problem

    Thanks agian Smiley Happy

I have never in my entire life heard of a router being wiped just by turning off the unit. As a matter of fact, if that were possible I would suspect that every single router in the world would have it's own dedicated battery backup in case of power failures. To refresh a router you simply unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in. When you plug it back in it will do a POST (power on self test) and then download any necessary updates from your ISP. If anything did go wrong you can hold the reset button while you plug the thing in and usually it returns to factory original settings.

A friend of mine works for a major ISP in the U.S. and he routinely has customers unplug their routers because of problems caused by high uptime (period of time without restarting). If you want to be absolutely sure you can call your ISP to double check, but I would be absolutely shocked if there was any truth to what you were told.
