I recently bought the LG Blu ray writer (WH14NS40) which comes with the PowerDVD 10 software. I notice there is a "3D" icon on the software where I can enable 3D. I understand this software says it can convert any 2D DVD/Blu ray into 3D. I googled and noticed there are so many sub versions of PowerDVD (other than version 10, 11, 12, 13), it says only the Ultra version can play 3D. I am confused.
When I was playing the 3D Blu ray disc last night, I also clicked on "Play 3D" from the disc. Anyway, I did see the 3D image but I was wondering if it was playing 2D-3D conversion from the software or a true 3D from the Blu ray disc ? Any difference ? To make it more confusing, Acer H6510BD itself also have 2D to 3D conversion feature. I didn't turn it on though but I noticed it was on 3D automatically. (Note: I tried using the 2D-3D conversion feature from the projector the other day when I didn't enable the 3D from the PowerDVD software and I had to select that function).
