After i updated the wi-fi drivers and chipset onmy friends laptop, the screen is black. The machine runs, but there is no bios entry or startup text at all. I spoked with Acer support in Norway, but they had not heard of a problem like that before.

After a google search i found out that im not alone with this problem. Any help with this would be appreciated. thx

Whenever I have problems such as this I use (or attempt to use) a Hirens Boot disc that has various free nprograms on that can help fix problems...there are too many programs to list here but you can download the disc for free...there are many versions but 15.2 is the latest.

    http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

If it can load the disc then there is access to programs that can force a restore or similar...or tools to check any of the hardware or software...I`m sorry not to be able to advise on which program to use from this side of the problem.
