Re: How can enable TPM on Aspire S7-391-9886?

I have been having a problem trying to get a Aspire S7 with TPM.  I have tried twice with the same result.  Each time I purchased from a different store.  When I watched the Windows 8 launch I noticed they showcased the Aspire S7 and said it came with the TPM chip.  Each time I purchased I was told the model came with it however when I go to setup the machine I find TPM not available.  When I contact support the first tier of support tells me that TPM should be available and after spending 30 minutes with them they escalate to the tier 2 who then confirms that the device I have does not have TPM. 

 

This should not be this difficult.  The last model I purchased was Aspire S7-391-9886.  Is there or is there not a model of Aspire S7 that comes with TPM?

You must first enter your bios and move to the Security tab. Once here you will need to set a supervisor password.  Once the supervisor password is set you should be able to change the TPM settings in the bios under the Security tab.
