VGA to Composite / Component is it possible? (AOD 270 Dkk)

Hi,

Does this model allow for composite (yellow 640x480) or componenet (Py Pb Pr) output from the VGA connector via a suitable simple adaptor cable?

I do have a small powered video signal changer, which converts the VGA output to S-VHS and composite, but I wondered if it can be done from the machine itself like many desktop PC graphics cards.

The TV in question is thus far unknown (it's a TFT set in a holiday appartment that we havent seen yet), so it will likely have SCART (takes care of composite via simple adaptor, and it'll maybe have VGA (easy) or Componenet, or even HDMI (easy).

A definitive yes, VGA can be used for composite and component with a simple cable, or no it won't would do great to answer this.  Thanks.

vga port outputs vga signal .. not composite or component or hdmi

the converter cable or box would change the signal  it should have nothing to do with the vga port at all

    thanks for the reply,

I know VGA is VGA, but I am aware that some laptop systems do allow for connection to composite (yellow signal RCA) and some rarer cases S-Video.  This is enabled by using just a simple cable which connects to particular pins.

I know for instance that some ATi Radeon graphics does support using a simple VGA to S0Video/Composite cable and it will produce TV-out via the VGA.

Well, as I say I have a device to turn VGA signal into S-Video + composite, so I can just use that (even if it does looks a bit soft compared to my desktop nVidia cards YPbPr cable using the blue lead as composite).

So I guess I could rephrase my question and say do these netbooks support TV-out via the VGA? (I doubt it)
