Graphic card believes it has VGA but uses HDMI output

So I am trying to add an extra monitor to my acer ultra thin notebook.
I bought it because it has a HIDE output. (I have a Acer- monitor with a VGA input. Uses a converter to my HIDE output on my other computer so I know that it works)

But when I try to connect the monitor to my notebook I got a big problem. The computer have a HIDE output but the software insists that the computer only has a VGA output. I have the latest updates on the graphic card and the latest updates from acer.

What to do?
Shall I go in to BIOS and do something?
Shall I install some other kind of version for my graphic card?

I can upload screendumps if you wish me to do so.
Thanks!

Here you see that my Geforce doen't have any output at all and that my Intel uses 2 screens. The one with the HDMI-output is acutally the one the computer uses. The VGA output is the external screen-

And here you see that the computer see the external (nr 2) as a VGA output.

    Intel HD Graphics 4000 - 9.17.10.2867
    GeForce GT 640M - 9.18.13.1422

I have seen the screen shots you have uploaded. I remember in the first post you mentioned that you are using a VGA monitor which is connected through and HDMI- VGA converter. That is the reason why it shows as a VGA port in the display properties. Do you have a HDMI input monitor with you? If so you can connect that to the laptop and check if it shows HDMI monitor in display properties.
