    Hi,

I would suggest to run Safe Mode and check if you experience the same issue. Please follow the steps below to start the computer in Safe Mode :

    1 Power off the computer.

2 Restart the computer, tap F8 on Acer logo screen about 3 times.

3 This will take you to ‘Windows Advanced Boot Options.

4 Choose "Safe Mode" in the Advanced Boot menu

5 When Windows finishes loading in Safe mode, check if the same issue persists or not.

If the issue persists we would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.

Not certain if this is the answer but certainly worth trying and the cost is less than $10. Go to youtube and watch the disassembly of the Aspire Z5600. Go to this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7vpJTdmMAg&list=PLTSMY7Ccvm9Cms7jrAHBeZ2Vam8CKLR8p&index=1

The link is in a foreign language. Turn the speaker volume down but watch the disassembly. Specifically watch the heat sink or long copper tube with two squares. The heat sinks are directly over the CPU(s).

Again, watch the video. Disassemble the heat sink and remove the heat sink compound from the CPU(s) and heat sink with a lint free cloth and alcohol. Make certain that the existing compound has been removed and surface areas are dry.

Purchase heat sink cound (also called thermal compound) from Radio Shack. Artic Silver is approxmately $8. Watch videos on the proper application of heat sink compound. The drop or X method works great.

After reassembly, leave the two burgundy panels off to allow proper ventilation. The computer has more than enough panels for safe operation.

Too my knowledge many computer manufacturers have used third country labor and inferior heat compound has been used.

    Hope this helps.
