Acer Aspire 5742G - OS Recovered (Win'7). What best / safe drivers to load now

I have been using my Acer Aspire 5742G notebook for over 2 years now. A few months back the system died on my abruptly, and the Acer Customer Care diagnosed it as an issue with the nVidia Ge Force GT 420M chip in this model. But, as this can't be replaced, I got the entire motherboard replaced which has the same nVidia chip too. However, over time I felt the system was becoming sluggish and as advised by an IT savvy friend, backed-up all my data and recovered the OS (Windows 7) from the eRecovery mode (hidden partition). While the entire OS got installed as it was purchased, I feel the display isn't as sharp as it used to be. Acer has only a very old driver for the nVidia graphics on this notebook model, but nVidia India website has new updated drivers. Having updated the drivers from Acer India website, which didn't make any difference whatsoever, I am unable to decide if I should download the latest VGA drivers for my notebook from nVidia's website.

Can someone advise if I should simply download the latest drivers for nVidia GE Force GT 420M from nVidia's website, or stick to the one on Acer's website. Would appreciate your responses which I hope help me sort this issue.

P.S.: I have already enabled Cleartype Text in Windows and adjusted it but it still hasn't helped much.
