Broken HDMI port

Hello. I'm writting on behalf of my girlfriend who bought an Acer V5 471 about 2 months ago. On this model there is a dedicated HDMI/network split connection on the left side. One day when she came home from school and were about to connect the split-cabel into the socket the whole HDMI-port got pushed into the chassi. It's loose and seem to have broken from the motherboard all together.

I didn't think twice when she called me the poor thing, and told here to send it back to Microshop here in Sweden where she bought it. It has to be warranty or reclamation for something like that I said. About 3 weeks later Microshop called back and says there is NO warranty for "physical damage" and the cost will be for exchanging the whole motherboard. That will cost more than buying a new computer according to them.

This all seem silly to me. Are there no warranty for when things brake in this manner? if a button on the keyboard or monitor stops working, is there no warranty for that also? what can we do?

Regards

Per, Sweden
