When I touch the screen or even move the laptop slightly or rest my wrist on it, it goes into sleep mode or the screen goes blank. I've turned off the "Sleep when closing lid" and it's still doing it but not as much. I move it and it goes black, then it will come back if I tap the top of the screen. Little help please? It's under 12 months old, but a bit wary about sending it off unless it's necessary. I also posted in Software but not in as much detail.

Are you sure it enters sleep mode?

It sounds to me that you may have a backlight issue particularly as the screen goes black if moved.

If this is the case, it is typically caused by a break in the cable carrying signal and power from the motherboard to screen.

I would not hesitate to seek Acer repair as it is still within guarantee. If it is a break in the cable it will only get worse.
