Problem with video card and BIOS

I recently bought a used Acer ASpire 5745pg and noticed that it has an HDMI port. When I tried connecting it, it didn't work so I tried to get the latest Nvidia drivers because the sticker on my laptop says it has the Nvidia geforce GT330m. IT wouldn't install because it said that I didn't have that card. I went online and found several posts stating that I first have to go into the BIOS and change it from "switchable" to "discrete". This is where my problem lays: as soon as I made those changes and saved it, the video on the screen went out completely. I cannot see a thing. Nor can I find a way back into the BIOS to change it back to "switchable" because I cannot see the BIOS at all. WHen I boot it up to windows, I can hear it starting windows, but I cannot see anything. The screen is black. What can I do? Has anyone come across this problem?
