Aspire 8920G battery issues

I have an Aspire 8920G and the battery will not charge when it's installed, but it will charge in my older Acer laptop, ( an Aspire 7520G). when it's fully charged its good for about 2hrs and for the most part it seems to function quite well in the 8920G however once it dies I have to remove it and recharge it in the older 7520G. Is there a fix this problem? I would appreciate any assistance that I can get, please.

Thank you

Lee

    Hi,

Tell me please do you use to charge the battery in the second laptop the same AC adapter that you use to power up Aspire 8920G or an other AC adapter ?

    Awaiting your response.

Hi Mr._Helper, sorry about the deplay in responding but yeah, swapping power supplies has not solved the problem either. As stated before, when the battery is charged it works just fine in the newer computer. Plugged in using the AC power the computer works fine; plugged in with the AC power and battery it works fine; AC power unplugged and using a fully charged battery it works fine too. If fact the last charge lasted about two hours but when it died and I plugged in the AC power to recharge the battery I got nothing and it doesn't matter how long you leave it plugged in, the batteery still does not charge in that laptop. However I can put that battery in the older laptop and use either AC power adapter and it will charge fully. Now I suspect that there is some sort of curcuitry or switching issue within the laptop itself. It's as if there's a switch for recharging the battery (any battery) and it has been turned off.

    Thanks,

    Lee
