Acer 1830T - no bootable device

Laptop was working fine. Now, BIOS doesn't report any hard drive is installed. I have confirmed the HD is working fine - works fine in another laptop and another computer. I have also tried installing a brand new hard drive - same issue, BIOS doesn't recognize the drive is plugged in and no bootable device error on start-up.

I was able to upgrade BIOS from version 1.11 to 1.24 with no issues - but problem persists.

Any see this before? Is the motherboard toast?

Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance.

From what you've included, it sounds like the HDD connector or some other component on the motherboard is not functioning properly.

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.
