I had bought an Acer Laptop with great enthusiam and trust in quality; but to my dismay the picture quality of the monitor, especially in photoes and videos is very poor and unconvincing, it is "Intel Core  i3-3120M, Intel HD Graphics 4000, upto 1760 MB Dynamic Video memery, 15.6" HD LED LCD, 500 GB HDD and is an Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n". What can be done about it? Hope to get help from kind experts.

You haven't mentioned your particular model. Also, you state that your screen is LED and LCD (it's one or the other).

Edit: Having briefly looked, I don't see any Acer models with an LED screen so I guess you have LCD (but using LED lighting as opposed to inverters/tubes).

Unfortunately, quality screens are considerably more expensive than the norm - you get what you pay for.

The trend I see in Acer reviews is typically that they are let down by their rather poor quality screens.

From my limited experience, the issue is not so much colour rendition as extremely limited viewing angles causing colour inversion etc. It's a shame as, other than the screen, the performance/spec on my purchase is excellent and met my needs.

Had the machine had an IPS screen for example, the cost would surely have been considerably more and I certainly would have looked elsewhere. I wonder what it would cost for a different laptop with quality screen and your Acer specs.

I have found viewing the odd movie to be acceptable but I certainly would not entertain the idea of photo editing - it couldn't be done.

Assuming your laptop is functioning correctly, there is nothing that can be done.
