Hi Guys. I have an Acer Aspire 5750Z and I've never had an issue with it until today. I was using it last night and everything was fine. Now whenever I switch the laptop on and it turns itself after a couple of seconds. I tried going into the boot menu, taking out the battery and fully charging it but it keeps shutting down straight away. Seems like there is a short somewhere or something.
Anyone have an issue like that before or have any idea what I could try to fix it?

I have an Acer Aspire V5-571-6726, which I have been very happy with, but just yesterday (5/1/13) it also refused to start up.

It comes on for a couple of seconds (at most) with the message to "launch startup repair (recommended)" and I hit "enter" (if I have time) and it shuts off.  I have barely had time to decipher that part of the message -- haven't a clue what the rest of the screen says.  On a couple of my attempts there was a different screen and it had the "normal mode" and "safe mode" messages, but I didn't have time to choose one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, in case you haven't fixed your problem yet, please go to: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13677/kw/Discharging%20Battery and follow the instructions (has video too).  I was having the same problem that it sounds like you're having and this fixed it right away.  When it did stay on I had a message to "launch repair start-up" or something to that effect and so I did that too. It was very simple and I haven't had a problem since.  I hope this will solve your problem too.
