how to buy repair parts after warranty expires

I have a school districe with about 50 acer small form factor desktops ( Veriton X275 and X480G). I need to buy some replacement power supplies for the systems no longer in warranty. I have found some on e-bay (used) and some third party web sites (> $100.00). One of these seems overpriced and the other is not for new merchandise. Is there not an official Acer parts option?

I once bought a computer with one of them wacky-sized power supplys in it, and due to the experience, make dang sure I only get standard sized components in my boxes.

Unfortunately, you have probably explored all your options.

Personally, I eneded up gutting the computer and putting it in a bigger box, which solved the issue.

Any size power-supply will work (power supplying wise), if you can get creative about mounting it. Ive seen folk cut a slot in their case to make em fit.

    H53,

That is my question. How do I do that? I would even consider becoming a service provider. There is nothing that I can find on acer's website that lists a way to get our of warranty service or parts for out of warranty machines without subscribing to a tech support contract from a third party.

    Thanks for you reply though.

    Juzzo,

Yes I have considered that. If it was only one or two machines that might be OK. But it just seems that they are still in production with these units so power supplies should be available for replacements.

Understand this isn't just a problem of Acer. I think all the manufacturers have similar issues. Especially HP but also Dell.

I found some new ones on e-bay for about $60.00 so that is what I will do for now.  Lite-on PS-5221-06 if any one else is looking for them.
