T232HL needs calibrating?

Hello Everyone,

Oh I so want to start enjoying my brand new T232HL Acer 23". It is gorgeous! I bought a new ASUS CM1745 to match loaded with Windows 8 to match.

But alas, it does not seem calibrated. The touch screen works, but trying to close an app by clicking on the red 'x' is impossible, it is "off". You know what I mean...like it needs to be calibrated. It makes it quit unusable as a touch screen. Like others I have tried to update drivers, but everything says up-to-date. I had hoped for the magical "it just works" as this was a Windows 8 endorsed monitor, right?

What can I do to fix this? What information might you need from me? I only have 12 more days before I will have to return and buy an ordinary monitor Smiley Sad

Someone mentioned Tablet settings in Windows...I can't seem to find that, can someone help with any of this? Thanks so much!

Ah, things don't move fast enough in forums...but it is nice to be able to post problems anyway.

I managed to find the Tablet Pen settings and could calibrate, but it didn't seem terribly accurate. Fat fingers, and interfaces not designed for touch, perhaps.

So then I ran into another problem. When in the recommended 19xx by 1080, the screen does not take full advantage of the screen dimensions. When in 16xx by 1050, the screen maximizes to the full size. Hard to explain and I don't want to take a picture, but I measured. When in recommended resolution, the actual screen image is 21". When on the lower resolution, it is the full 23". What's up with that? Can anyone advise?

The kind-of annoying buttons on the side will not let me adjust horizontal or vertical (even though I can see these settings, when scrolling through it just skips these two properties).

And lastly, perhaps I am spoiled by the 27" mac, but when I reload Chrome in desktop (so it doesn't take over), the fonts become fuzzy. Sigh. The resolution is just not good enough on this Acer.

I have in earnest, started shopping around for a more cost competitive and better monitor. I REALLY wanted a touch screen, too. Sigh.
